Our Why
The founders of 5 Tribe Vending are educators by trade, and they founded the Trailblazers Academy: Youth Entrepreneurship Summit in response to a clear need that had to be addressed in the classrooms: hands-on, career-connected learning experiences that make career pathways tangible and transferable have to be integrated in everyday learning.
This summit introduces entrepreneurship as a viable career pathway, while also empowering the youth to harness an entrepreneurial mindset when approaching life, daily problems and possible challenges. This builds a skill set can build soft and hard skills, while also helping them power forward into their future.
The Summit Experience
The summit is open to grades 9-12 in Philadelphia from public, charter, private, cyber and homeschool. Students walk away with the following experiences:

Opportunities to connect to local entrepreneurs and community leaders across 17 industries to engage in mentorship related to their business interests.

Engage in a networking lunch and resource fair to support post-event experiential learning and internships.

​ Participate in a small group entrepreneurship design challenge focused on solving local issues through an innovative approach.
Ways to Support the Event

Volunteer as a Guest Entrepreneur: Share your entrepreneurial journey during a mini-pitch session with a small group of students. Share lessons learned as an entrepreneur and spend the day (8:30am - 2:30pm) educating young people on the entrepreneurial journey. Volunteer as a Competition Judge: Small business owners can attend from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. to serve as a judge during the student entrepreneurship design challenge presentations.

Serve as a Community Sponsors: We welcome individuals or organizations to make a monetary contribution or in-kind donation to support programming costs & supplies (i.e. breakfast, lunch, printing, awards/prizes, school transportation grants). This ensures we can continue to keep offering this as a free learning experience for our youth.
